The Netherlands Twin Register

Twin research

The colour of your eyes and hair, the shape of your ears: all these features are determined by the genes you inherit from your parents. But what determines your intelligence? Whether you’re a sore loser? Whether you enjoy sports or good food? Behaviour is determined in part by genes, and in part by your surroundings. But what exactly is the ratio?
25 years ago the Netherlands Twin Register was founded to investigate this.
