A legal toolkit for Europe

Finding common ground in the constitutions of European member states

The constitutions is a sensitive issue. A majority of the population in The Netherlands  attaches great importance to the constitution. However, research shows that most people have no idea what is written in it. A European constitution is an even more sensitive topic, which was proven by the Dutch voting “no” in 2005. At the Tilburg Institute of Comparative and Transnational Law, Monica Claes studies the substance and function of European constitutions.
