Where voices come from

And how to get rid of them

Around 15% of the Dutch population hears voices. Not only is it a symptom of schizophrenia, it is also prevalent in other psychiatric disorders, such as in epilepsy, in patients with hearing problems, and in a significant minority of the general population. Psychiatrist Iris Sommer searches for new and effective treatments to silence these voices, also for people who are not responsive to antipsychotic medication.
