Predicting and treating pre-eclampsia
Each year about three hundred and fifty thousand women during die pregnancy, childbirth or postpartum period. A major cause of this mortality is high blood pressure during pregnancy, which can lead to diseases like pre-eclampsia. Reason enough for medical researcher Joyce Browne to investigate pre-eclampsia.

Joyce Browne volgde het University College van de Universiteit Utrecht, rondde daarna een opleiding Epidemiologie in Londen af en volgde een verkorte opleiding Geneeskunde aan het Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht. Momenteel promoveert ze aan het UMC Utrecht met een onderzoek naar hypertensieve aandoeningen in de zwangerschap in Ghana.
