Onderzoek bij volwassen tweelingen Marja Sonneveld en Elly Prins

Marja Sonneveld and Elly Prins

About a third of the multiple births in the Netherlands is monozygotic. With monozygotic twins the fertilized egg splits into two separate embryos. These twins share all their genetic material, and are therefore much more alike than their other siblings. Behaviour is determined in part by genes, and in part by your surroundings. But what exactly is the ratio? 25 years ago the Netherlands Twin Register was founded to investigate this.
